Preparing for M1 exit test

Hi, I'm looking for tips on preparing for my M1 exit test (to get my
M2), coming up in a couple weeks. (Ideally I would have taken a course
which included this exit test at the end, but I drive a scooter, and
plans to hold a course for scooters got cancelled and so I am on my
own...)

So I'd appreciate tips like what to expect, in addition to the info
provided at the end of the motorcycle handbook. Will the tester be a
stickler about protective clothing or boots (other than helmet)?
Should I check out the bike in any way before starting? Will I have to
start my bike with the crank rather than on switch? Is there a
preferred way to start it i.e. before or after easing it off the
support stand? Anything I should absolutely remember to do while
driving?

Any tips are welcome; thanks in advance.

Well its been a while since my test...

Basically, wear enough gear to be safe (jeans, boots, jacket, gloves,
helmet), ride smartly, follow the rules of the road, check your blind
spots as needed (shoulder check) and ride with confidence.

They gave me a one-way radio to put in my helmet., and did a quick check
of my bike (lights mainly) to see that its was safe to ride.. they had 2
people, one giving commands via radio, one driving the car that follows
you around. Do what they say when (if!) it is safe to do so. You are
supposed to nod if heard their instructions so that they can see if you
got the message...

My test was down Walkley road (watch the speed limit here... its lower
than you think!), then a left into a residental street. Park bike stop
engine, get off. Get on, start bike... resume riding. Back onto
Walkley, do a lane change or two... then the on-ramp for the
Queensway... (I am not sure if they will do this with a scooter as I
don't think scooters are 400 series highway legal... you might need a
motorcycle!), another lane change or two, exit the Queensway, Get back
to Walkley and drive back to the Test centre.

Don't hold me to it, but that was basically what I can remember...

You should maybe have taken the motorcycle course anyway. The bike are
provided and the test insures you of having at least the fundamentals
under your belt. The m2 licence through the course allows you to ride
any type of two wheeled motor vehicle such as a moped, scooter or
motorcycle. The permit you will get after passing the DriveTest test
will have an L on it meaning you will not be able to ride anything but a
low speed vehicle.

No they are only concerned about what the law requires.

No
Anything I should absolutely remember to do while

driving?
Lots of shoulder checks, cross traffic checks and proper lane position
and make sure you are in the proper lane.

The person that replied before me is talking about an M2 exit as opposed
to an M1 exit which you are looking for. With an M1 you are not allowed
on any 400 highways at any time. I was an examiner in cornwall and the
test is done partially on the parking lot and then a short figure *
around a residential area. I am also an Instructor in Cornwall.

Oops... Its proof kids, that smoking too much crack is a bad thing. ;)

In that case (M1 exit) ... take the riders course!
